I started a facebook group a few years ago about Camp Kenosha where a bunch of former players shared memories from Camp Kenosha. The basis of the group was "I remember when.." certain things happened at Camp Kenosha that we'd never forget. I'd love to get that started back up again and be able to share a few memories with each other and with Wildcat fans.
Be aware that this information is somewhat public.. But I'll kick it off by saying that I remember when....
1) the infamous, and even somewhat legendary, Andre Butler refused to cut his dreads 2) we did wheelbarrows down the entire length of the field and when we looked back all of the upperclassmen were gone - we found them in the pool 3) Omar Conteh beat me in the finals of Last DJ Standing in 2008 - I'm still bitter 4) Marshall Thomas beat everyone in the 100M freestyle - at about 300 lbs. 5) Naked Pull-Ups and Naked Board Drill
As bad as Kenosha used to be (until 2008), I still miss a lot of it!!!

Kenosha was the most dreaded time of year, but it sure did make the best memories. Here are a few of my favorites: 1. My allergy and pain meds didn't mix well and I became "loopy". Most of what I remember is running past Tori (the head athletic trainer) and giving him a "flyby high five" 2. Trash cans full of ice outside the locker room for after practice. 3. Full body cramps on multiple occasions. 4. The most fun was the pool. After practice and on days off being able to relax in the pool and judge the cannonball contest.
I'd love to go back and watch it again.

My top Kenosha memories:
1) Fearing that I would have my braids cut off (didn't happen because I used my brain and hid out... thanks Erryn Cobb) 2) T Stuckey... this guy had a boom box and a chain around his neck... he was an intimidating figure to me as a 18 yr old freshman 3) Full body cramp where I started practice at 180 and ended at 172... started practice the next day at a massive 192 4) Dylan and his ice cream date 5) Chris Malleo and his "we're going to the movies" rumor 6) Garrick McGee and our meetings... 7) My first day wearing non-issued cleats that happened to be white 8) Barnett's Pain of discipline or Pain of regret speech

1. Being introduced to the upperclassmen in 2008 by a robotic dance rendition of "PATT (Party All The Time)" by Corey Wootton and Marshall Thomas in the locker room - again and again, every day of camp. 2. Eventually having semi-control over the Kenosha locker room stereo as an upperclassman - and continuing the tradition of playing music that put awkward smiles on kenosha-beaten freshmen's faces. 3. "Kenosha Face" 4. The countless pretzels I ate at Kenosha - left out in giant bowls in every meeting room for some reason - carbs and sodium are necessary I guess when you lose up to 10 pounds a practice. 5. Being taught the basics of the playbook by greats like Corey Wootton and having the ability to pass that knowledge on to young players like Dean Lowry, Ifeadi (I won't try the last name), Max Chapman, and Deonte Gibson in the years following. 6. Wet knee brace rashes - especially Kevin Watt's

My story took place when we returned from Kenosha but were still in pre season camp mode so this still counts... "The Mock Game massacre" in the summer of 2004.. It was so bad it's still talk about to this day among current NU football players.. After going through the "mock game " at Ryan field coach Walk wasn't happy with the flow of practice he made us run run and run.... I swear I thought we could've made one hell of a track team...

TOP 5 KENOSHA MEMORIES:
1. After surgery sneaking out to Babydolls. 2. Destroying Sam Cheatham during a "full go-up" practice after the O started that dumb ass "fire it up" chant 3. Playfully intimidating freshmen with "questionable" jokes. 4. Getting caught by Walk telling said jokes, and him calling me "a slut-pervert" 5. Leaving.
BOTTOM 5 KENOSHA MEMORIES:
1. That terribly terrible thing called " The Car Wash" 2. Showing up to camp in 02 25 lbs overweight 3. Naked pull-ups 4. Scott Crohn rubbing butter and ice on his nipples 5. the quality of females those terrible few weeks we were there

My top Kenosha memories in no particular order:
• Listening to the Carter I by Wayne every day before practice.(Go DJ/That's my DJ) • "We're going to the movies" staring Malleo • Car Wash(enough said) • Talking hell of smack to Quis all summer as an incoming freshmen and getting locked up that 1st Kenosha. • The Mock Game Massacre

Malleo- Don't tell the story about when a Coach that left for Eastern Michigan told me "A LITTLE HUSTLE JONES... IT WAS BETWEEN US AND ALMA"... I'm pretty sure Alma doesn't have a football team and that this coach was the guy who recruited me...
Honeymoon over on the first drill of camp... smh

My perspective was a little bit different, but here are a few.
Wet Grass!!! Guys who fought holding hands walking up and down the hill. Separated at Birth - Coach Brown and Blackula was my favorite I think. Madden in the video room Dylan's Ice Cream Date and more so the ensuing skit with Chesty as "Googly Eyes" GA Josh Buis' Bike crash inside while carrying Coach Dunbar's coffee. T Stuckey vs J Fields

I have tons but I'll begin with a few:
1. T.Stuck tried to cut the water line, I stuck up for everyone else and took the brunt of it. Black eye and all but I still held my on. Right? Lol. Me and Stuck are cool. 2. Coach Fegns.... Eating peanuts in a position meeting and one got stuck in his throat. He choked out "I got a peanut or penis" in my throat. Everyone cracked up but A.Ward took it to another level laughing and got kicked out. Lmao. 3. O-linemen and their car wash. 4. Buttnaked pull-ups. 5. Thinking every cafeteria lady was a contestant on "Top Model." 6. Kenosha Face. Everyone was susceptible to it.
